Kelly Rowland has confirmed that she wants to return to The X Factor UK judging panel this year, but insisted that whether she would be back is in Simon Cowell's hands.
Kelly, who joined the show last year alongside fellow new judges Tulisa Contostavlos and Gary Barlow, told the Daily Star this week that she was up for reprising her role on the show.
She explained to the newspaper “I would like to do it but it is up to Simon Cowell.”
Fortunately for Kelly, it seems like Simon agrees with her, with the music mogul saying recently his "gut feeling" was that this year's panel should remain the same.
However there have been more a few other stars dropping hints about wanting to take part, with former X Factor winner Alexandra Burke saying last week that Simon should start with an entire new panel... and give her a call!
Former X Factor star Dannii Minogue has also revealed she'd love to return to the show, having been 'forced' out of the series last summer due to schedule clashes with Australia's Got Talent.
There could also be competition for a spot on the panel from new Britain's Got Talent judge Alesha Dixon, with Simon previously confirming that the former Strictly judge was originally lined up for the series last year.
“It’s a possibility that Alesha will be asked to be an ‘X Factor’ judge if her stint on ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ is successful," a source told the Daily Mail last week.
“Simon originally wanted Alesha instead of Kelly to join the judging panel last year, but she backed out and decided to stay loyal to ‘Strictly’ and the BBC.
“In a way, Alesha’s better suited to ‘The X Factor’ because she is in touch with popular music and has had hit singles, as a solo artist and a member of her old band Mis-Teeq.”
Open auditions for The X Factor 2012 continue this weekend in Manchester.
