X Factor boss Simon Cowell is reportedly "desperate" to get Adele to sign up as a judge on the show.
According to the Daily Star, Simon and the show's other top producers hope that the global chart topper will be lured by a multi-million pound deal to sign up.
“Adele is an incredible story. You wouldn’t have predicted this years ago when we were such an image-infatuated business," Simon told the newspaper.
He added: “Here is somebody who has done everything her own way, gone back to basics and achieved this incredible success.
“She’s one of the most down-to-earth people you’ll meet and she hasn’t changed a bit.”
An insider claimed to the tabloid that the singer was top of this year's "wish list", with the spy revealing: “The producers love her.”
The source continued: “Simon is always looking for new directions and ideas. He thinks Adele’s success and achievements are incredible.
“He recognises that true musicianship and a serious approach can bring a lot of credibility and an extra dimension to his show.”
While Simon previously said he hoped not to be making any changes to the panel for The X Factor 2012, the decision could be taken out of his hands.
It was reported yesterday that Gary Barlow would be forced to quit The X Factor due to his work commitments on the Diamond Jubilee this summer.
