Gary Barlow could be forced to quit The X Factor 2012 judging panel to work on the Diamond Jubilee, it has been reported today.
According to The People, the Take That star may have to step down due to his commitments to The Queen ahead of her Diamond Jubilee celebrations this summer.
The 41-year-old has been put in charge of organising a huge summer concert this summer outside Buckingham Palace, clashing with the show's auditions.
"Gary wants to go back and Simon wants him but he has got a lot on this summer, namely the Jubilee concert which is taking up a lot of his time," a source told the newspaper.
The supposed insider added: "This and other projects he is working on mean that unless the audition schedule changes, Gary won't be an X Factor judge for this year's show, which will be a huge blow for Simon.
"He loved the X Factor line-up last year and he hopes that he will be able to keep it the same. "It is going to take a lot of juggling around though."
Bosses were forced to delay and change audition dates last year to accommodate Gary and his concert with Take That, but the changes meant that Dannii Minogue was forced to quit the show after the new schedules clash with Australia's Got Talent.
Simon said previously his "gut feeling" was that this year's panel should remain the same, but this latest news could put a stop to that plan.
Open auditions for The X Factor 2012 started last week in Liverpool.
