X Factor bosses reportedly ditched Birmingham from this year's audition line up due to a lack of talent!
TellyMix revealed last month how Birmingham would not be visited this year as part of The X Factor 2012 audition dates, which started last weekend in Liverpool.
And now the Daily Star Sunday claim it’s because bosses didn't feel that the city was producing "anything amazing." Instead, the midlands city has been replaced by Newcastle, the first time the Northern city has seen try outs in almost six years.
An insider told the newspaper: “The auditions in Birmingham weren’t producing anything amazing and year-in, year-out it proved a massive disappointment.
“Normally they’d happily visit, knowing they’d at least get some amusing novelty acts which would make good telly.
“But after talent was in short supply last year and application figures are down, they can’t afford to take any chances.”
There appeared to be no lack of talent on display at auditions at the Newcastle's Metro centre, as some wannabes camped out from 3AM to try out.
The insider told the newspaper: “They’re hoping Newcastle will bring in some sexy, controversial characters.
“They’re eager for some Geordie Shore types to turn up and spice the show up a bit.”
The X Factor 2012 auditions continue in Cardiff, Glasgow, Manchester and London over the next two months.
