Former Strictly Come Dancing star Alesha deflected from BBC One in January to join Simon Cowell on the new series of BGT, and now may also appear on The X Factor.
Simon previously confirmed that he had originally approached the singer to join The X Factor UK's judging panel last year, but ended up going with Tulisa and Kelly Rowland instead.
"I’d approached her originally to do X Factor but she’s ended up on Got Talent,” he explained. “I just wanted her for one of our shows. I thought she looked brilliant.
“She’s got energy, she gets it, and she wanted to do something different, not just for the money. She’s an ambitious girl and I wanted to work with her.”
According to the Daily Mail today, Alesha could now make a surprise move to The X Factor panel if she proves a hit with viewers when Britain's Got Talent starts later this month.
"It’s a possibility that Alesha will be asked to be an X Factor judge if her stint on Britain’s Got Talent is successful," a source tells the newspaper.
The supposed insider continued: "Simon originally wanted Alesha instead of Kelly to join the judging panel last year, but she backed out and decided to stay loyal to Strictly and the BBC.
"In a way, Alesha’s better suited to The X Factor because she is in touch with popular music and has had hit singles, as a solo artist and a member of her old band Mis-Teeq."
No announcements have been made about judges for the upcoming series, with only Gary Barlow confirming that he was “in talks” with bosses.
Open auditions for The X Factor 2012 continue tomorrow in Newcastle.
