X Factor star Cher Lloyd is set to become the latest UK singer to attempt to crack the tough US market, it has been announced today.
In a rather over the top press release, Cher - described as the "UK's Most Controversial Pop Star" - announces she's to release her debut US single next month.
But rather than Swagger Jagger, the singer will instead be releasing new single "Want U Back", which features X Factor USA finalist Astro.
Cher signed a US record deal with X Factor USA judge L.A Reid, joining his Epic records imprint.
"I am so excited about coming over to the states and working with L.A Reid," said Cher. "L.A is a musical genius and has been such a great supporter of me. Now I just cannot wait to get on that stage and for everyone to hear my music."
"I had the pleasure of meeting Cher Lloyd backstage at The X Factor USA," commented L.A. Reid. "The moment she walked in the room I could just feel the presence of someone truly special. I believe in her extraordinary talent and will stand by her as we climb to the top of the US music charts."
Cher's debut album, Sticks + Stones, is out now in the UK.
