Cheryl Cole could be on her way back to The X Factor UK, current judge Louis Walsh has revealed!
The Irish music mogul dropped more than a few hints today that Kelly Rowland would not return to the show when auditions kick off in the summer.
He is quoted by the Daily Mirror as saying: “I’ll tell you who the panel will be. It will be Gary Barlow, Louis Walsh, Tulisa and perhaps Cheryl Cole. She could be back."
But Louis refused to confirm anything, adding: "I’m not saying she definitely will but I’d love to see her.”
Girls Aloud singer Cheryl left the show after three years last spring to join Simon Cowell on the US version, only to be sacked four days into filming.
Despite some months of subbing Simon and his shows, the X Factor boss has insisted recently that she is now "over" her axe and he'd love to have her back on the UK show.
Speaking at the launch of Britain's Got Talent last month, Simon said: “I regret what happened because Cheryl was a close friend.
"She could be a panellist again if she wanted to – 100%.”
It was reported last week that producers at ITV would be more than happy to welcome back Cheryl Cole, with insiders saying the job is hers if she wants it.
Yesterday a spokesperson for the show insisted that at this stage any names were “pure speculation”, adding: "No decisions on the panel have been made yet."
