Cheryl Cole is apparently more than welcome back on The X Factor this year, with show bosses telling the Girls Aloud star the job is hers if she wants it.
Cheryl, who quit the show after three years in 2010, is the favourite to become a 'new' judge when the series returns in the summer.
It follows reports yesterday that Kelly Rowland would "almost certainly" be axed from the series.
A supposed source close to boss Simon Cowell revealed: "Cheryl is a part of the x factor family.
"Formal discussions have yet to take place but if she wants to come back, she would be welcomed with open arms."
Take That star Gary Barlow is also expected to be back on the show this year, while Louis Walsh is also set to reprise his role on the panel.
Auditions for The X Factor 2012 start next month.
