Not content with slagging off her former mentor Cheryl Cole, X Factor's Cher Lloyd has now had a go at Marcus Collins, and he's bitten right back!
Clearly in need of a bit of publicity ahead of her new single release, Cher this week hit out at Marcus for recording a cover for his debut single.
Marcus, who finished as runner up on last year's show, will release his take on White Stripes track ‘Seven Nation Army’ next month.
But Cher moaned: "That Marcus Collins song is right doing my head in because it’s a cover.”
However like Cheryl Cole before him, Marcus hit back at Cher's poor attempts to cause controversy.
He said: “Everyone had their opinions on the song and Cher’s opinion was just a little bit strong.
"I thought that maybe because she’d been in this situation that she’d know how difficult it is and how important it is.”
He added: “She said ‘Why hasn’t he been in the studio writing?’ Well I have, I’ve written three quarters of the album and all of those originals are the best of an even bigger amount of originals that we’ve done.”
But Marcus tried his best not to get into a war with his fellow X Factor star, writing on Twitter: "HOLD UP! I adore Cher lloyd . The end! X"
