X Factor runner up Marcus Collins has revealed is debut album has been influenced by the likes of Stevie Wonder and Al green.
Marcus will be the first of last year's finalists to release new music next month, with his self-titled debut album out on March 12.
Speaking to Capital FM about the record, Marcus explained: "The direction that I went with this album is old school.
"I wanted to do things that are so built in to music, I think, and that have really filtered down and affected so many artists since R&B and Motown came about."
He continued: "There's little, not samples, but nods towards like The Supremes, things from Al Green, Stevie Wonder.
"There's so many influences that I've tried to take a little [from]. Just take some of that magic and make sure I can put it into something that I can rework and make sure that it's contemporary and that it'll work."
23-year-old Marcus, who finished behind Little Mix on last year's show, will release his debut single 'Seven Nation Army' on March 5.
