X Factor runner up Marcus Collins has revealed he has written Tulisa's first solo single, a track called Breakaway.
Speaking to the Daily Record, Marcus explained how he penned the track before the show, and didn't even realise it was going to be performed by the N-Dubz star.
“I have always written songs. I wrote a song for Tulisa, which she recorded before she knew me, before I auditioned for the show or anything," he explained.
Marcus continued: “I think it was going to be her first solo single. She was making a roast dinner for all the groups in the X Factor house and we got talking, then I started singing the song.
“She was looking at me like, really confused, and asked how I knew that song. I said, ‘Because I wrote it love – it’s one of mine.’"
The track was due for release last year, but postponed after Tulisa bagged a job on The X Factor and refused to perform on the show.
But Marcus was optimistic that the track could soon be on the radio, adding: “I suppose it still could happen. She is in LA right now recording more songs then she’s going to Miami to shoot a video so it is all taking off for her."
Tulisa is expected to finally release her solo album later in the spring.
