X Factor 2011 runner up Marcus Collins has been perfecting his album this week with mentor from the show, Gary Barlow.
Speaking ahead of the release of his debut record next month, Marcus confessed to being nervous about its reception.
The 23-year-old hairdresser from Liverpool will be the first of last year's acts to release any music, with winners Little Mix having delayed their album until the late summer.
Marcus told the Daily Star: "The past five weeks I’ve literally just been in the studio with Gary and I’ve really pushed myself to make sure everything is spot on.
“I had so much to say and this album’s given me the opportunity to talk. Gary has been amazing and I’ve loved working with him.”
He continued: “It’s fantastic and I’m just enjoying every minute of it. Sometimes people say they felt sorry for me that I didn’t win.
“And I just think: ‘Why?’ I’m not sorry – I’m doing everything I ever wanted to do.”
Marcus’ debut single Seven Nation Army is released on March 4, with his self-titled debut album out the following week.
