Harry Styles is set to break apart from One Direction to become the group's frontman in a bid to break the States, it has been claimed.

The former X Factor finalists, who finished third on the show in 2010, are currently in the US trying to crack the tough American market.

And the Daily Star report that record label bosses are keen to make Harry stand out from the rest.

"Columbia music execs are rubbing their hands with glee. It looks like One Direction are going to be absolutely massive in America," a source told the tabloid.

The insider added: "They decided long ago that Harry is a natural frontman. He’s funny, confident and has a great voice."
