X Factor runner up Marcus Collins has insisted he hasn't rushed his debut album, as he prepares for its release less than three months after the show finished.
The Liverpudlian star said he was "excited" for fans to her the record, but admitted it had been tough work getting the LP recorded in time.
“I’m so happy to be releasing my debut album but it’s been really stressful because we’ve had an ambitious deadline," he said.
“I’m working hard to get everything finished in time. It might seem quick to some people but I’ve been working solidly in the studio since the beginning of January.
“I’m just so excited to be getting on with it. I’ve worked on my music every minute possible since I came out of the show. I had to make sure it was right."
And Marcus revealed the album wouldn't just be covers, revealing the track listing would feature songs written by himself.
"I was writing before the album and before I had a deal," he explained. “There are a couple of favourites on there that I’ve picked but it isn’t an album of covers.
"I wrote the majority of the album from scratch and I wrote some songs on my own.”
