One Direction's Harry Styles and Caroline Flack may have been forced to be break up by pressure from the band's management and record label, it has been claimed.
Sources in this week's Now magazine say that the management team behind the former X Factor finalists "weren't happy" when the relationship became more than just a fling.
"They were introduced via his [Harry’s] people, but they weren't happy when the romance took off," one insider explained. "I'm told it went as far as [Simon] Cowell."
Meanwhile another source suggested that the couple were forced to split over pressures from US record label bosses.
Harry and Caroline announced their separation just days before the boys flew to out to the States to try and break into the tough American market with their debut single What Makes You Beautiful.
"Harry's relationship wouldn't have gone at all well in the States," the second source claimed. "There was a fear that it could damage their reputation before they'd even got started."
Harry confirmed last week that he and Caroline had ended their three month relationship, putting it down to a "mutual decision" between them.
