X Factor winners Little Mix have confirmed recent reports that they plan to release their debut album by the Spring.

The girl group - made up of Jesy Neslon, Jade Thirlwall, Perrie Edwards and Leigh-Anne Pinnock - won't wait until the autumn like past winners.

Leona Lewis, Leon Jackson, Alexandra Burke and Matt Cardle have all waited until October the year after winning to release their debut record, while other X Factor acts - such as Rebecca Ferguson - have waited until the following December.

Speaking to the Metro, the group revealed they were just waiting to finally meet Simon Cowell to get started.

"No we haven’t met him, not yet," Jesy said.

Leigh-Anne added: "We’re basically waiting for him to get back."

"We just want to be as successful as we can," Jade explained. "There’s still a hype surrounding us and we don’t want to leave fans hanging for too long so the sooner the better really."
