The Celebrity X Factor line-up has reportedly landed one of its biggest names yet in chat show icon Ricki Lake.
Ricki was a popular figure on US television between 1993 and 2004 thanks to her self-titled talk show.
It launched five years after her breakout acting role as Tracy Turnblad in the original Hairspray movie.
Now, having recorded a track for the cult classic's 2007 remake, she could be about to move in to music.
According to The Sun's Dan Wootton, Simon Cowell has signed Ricki for his upcoming celebrity edition of The X Factor.
The media mogul supposedly swooped in to offer her a place after she impressed viewers across the pond on The Masked Singer earlier this year.
The bonkers singing contest - which ITV recently picked up in the UK - sees celebs put on performances wearing character costumes.
However, Celebrity X Factor will be a far more serious affair, as the winner will reportedly bag a record deal with Simon's firm Syco.
The news comes after another American actress, Love Actually star Olivia Olson, entered talks to take part.
Ricki was previously a finalist on Dancing With The Stars, the American version of Strictly Come Dancing.
In 2017, she was a guest judge on Gary Barlow's BBC One talent search Let It Shine. Her other UK appearances include Through The Keyhole and Celebrity Juice.
Celebrity X Factor is one of two spin-offs Simon is planning to air in place of the regular version this year.
The other will see 'all-star' former contestants return to compete against each other for ultimate glory.
