The unlikely pairing was revealed last month when the then couple were pictured snogging at a kebab shop in London.
Jesy and Chris had reportedly enjoyed a night out together before getting a bite to eat.
In pictures obtained by The Sun newspaper, the pair were seen kissing and cuddling at a table in the eatery.
An onlooker told the tabloid: “They couldn’t keep their (probably greasy) mitts off one another. They kept pausing mid-sentence to snog, and were really affectionate. It may be early days but there’s definitely a real spark.”
Now it's claimed that the brief romance has already ended, with sources claiming Jesy was worried by the sudden publicity surrounding the relationship.
“Chris has been upset by the break-up," an insider told THe Sun. “But Jesy has explained that she needs to protect herself and her career, and taking their romance any further was proving a massive risk."
They added: “For now she’s going to enjoy being single until the right man comes along.”
Chris himself spoke briefly about the pictures at the National Television Awards in January. He said vaguely: "It's a tough one. I'm just enjoying what I'm doing."
Asked whether or not he still considered himself single, at the time Chris added: "There's no updates, nothing you haven't seen. I'm just happy with myself at the minute."
Rumours of Jesy and Chris' apparent relationship first broke two months after Jesy split from her ex.
A source told The Sun last month (January): “It’s very early days but there’s definitely an attraction between them and they’re getting on really well.
“Jesy is enjoying her newly single status and spending time with Chris – they had fun mixing cocktails together at The Cauldron last night – and couldn’t resist posting some pictures on both their Instagram stories.
“They are taking things slowly for now but it could become something more serious.”
Chris rose to fame on Love Island in 2017 where he made the final with Olivia Attwood. The pair went on to leave the villa as a couple and even had their own reality TV show.
But it was that very programme that saw the pair's relationship end with a messy split.
Last year Chris was forced to deny his time with Olivia was a 'showmance'. He said: "The reality show came five or six months into our relationship, so there was no commercial benefit. I'm not one of those people. I will be in a relationship if I want to be in a relationship.
"No monetary value can make me sway into staying in something I don't want to be in. I was with Olivia purely because I want to be with Olivia."
