Dalton Harris' X Factor winners song soars up the official chart

'The X Factor' TV show, Series 15, Rehearsals, London, UK - 16 Nov 18

Dalton Andre Harris' X Factor 2018 winner's song is soaring up the charts following its release on Sunday.

The weekend saw Dalton win The X Factor 2018 having competed in the final with Anthony Russell and Scarlett Lee.

Dalton was crowned the winner while Scarlett finished in second place and Anthony was in third.

Following the live show, Dalton released his X Factor winner's single The Power Of Love to download and stream.

Dalton has teamed up with former X Factor winner James Arthur on the song, originally released by Frankie Goes to Hollywood.

The song has soared to the top of the iTunes download charts where it currently has a commanding lead at Number 1.

The track almost immediately made an impact on the Official Top 40, debuting at Number 23 in Monday's midweeks based solely on sales between 9PM and midnight on Sunday.

Now the Official Charts Company report that Dalton has risen to Number 4 after his first full day on sale.

However it may be hard for Dalton to catch the current official Number 1, Ariana Grande.

Her song thank u, next has already been on top for three weeks and looks to stay there, currently 13,500 sales ahead at the summit.

Meanwhile, bookies have made Dalton the 6/1 third favourite to be crowned this year's Christmas Number 1 later in the month.

Ariana Grande continues to head the betting at 2/1 ahead of Ava Max (5/2).

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: "Dalton breezed through X Factor and if the latest odds are anything to go by, his single with James Arthur may just find itself at the top of the Christmas charts."

As in past years, all UK record company profits from the X Factor winner’s single will be donated to children’s hospice charities, Together for Short Lives and Shooting Star Chase.

It’s The X Factor UK’s 11th charity release. Simco Limited will donate 100% of its profits from the sale of each download and in respect of all audio streaming of the single, and the Chancellor has also agreed to donate the VAT, in each case to be shared equally by both charities.

The X Factor will be back next year on ITV.
