Ricky John touched The X Factor 2018 judges in tonight's auditions.
This evening saw try outs continue live at Wembley Arena in front of a 4,000 strong audience.
Acts faced them alongside the new line up of judges: Simon Cowell, Ayda Williams, Robbie Williams and Louis Tomlinson.
One of the acts we met was 37 year old carpenter Ricky John from South West London.
He had just welcomed a second child, Baby star, alongside 10-year-old daughter Heavnley.
Ricky told the judges he was going to sing Sam Cooke's Change is Gunna Come.
"What does that song mean to you?" asks Simon Cowell.
"I was actually, without going into too much, homeless for eight years so I really needed a change to come," Ricky explained. "Life before I met my partner, wasn't great. I was homeless for about eight years. I was on my own from when I was 16.
"She's given me two beautiful children and she's given me my smile back. Now this could be the opportunity where we could actually have something."
After belting out his song, the judges were left on their feet.
Louis said: "That was an unbelievable audition."
Robbie added: "Ricky, your voice is so strong and your personality is strong. I want to see so much more from you."
Simon concluded: "This is why we make this show. Genuinely, to find people like you."
The X Factor 2018 is back on Sunday night, September 16 at 8PM on ITV.
