The new series is widely expected to see at least one new judge, with Nicole Scheerzinger tipped to go.
And Sinitta has put herself forward to replace the Pussycat Doll singer.
Sinitta has regularly appeared on the show over the past decade, often as a guest at the judges' houses stage.
Now she's after a bigger role, telling the Daily Mirror newspaper: "Me becoming a judge, I think that’s what’s going to happen next. It’s my time."
She added: "I’ve heard that there’s a vacancy. As usual I’ve been available for the last 11 years.”
Meanwhile, Sinitta says that Simon Cowell is "optimistic" about the new series despite falling ratings for the show.
She said: "He’s optimistic because even though ratings were down the talent was incredible.
“The band that won have had success, which shows it still works.”
Sinitta previously had her say on The X Factor's falling ratings.
Despite a vast array of changes to last year's series, viewing figures dipped to their lowest on record.
And Sinitta thinks the problem is Simon being too far "into the future".
"They don’t understand the viewers," said Sinitta, who didn't make her regular appearance at judges' houses in 2017. “Simon is so forward looking that he’s zooming into the future.
“If you look at the recent episodes they are very different to the original ones but he needs to let the team catch up."
Sinitta was replaced by Cheryl alongside Simon and added: “It’s unfortunate because a show like that always needs new ideas.
“Even Cheryl’s week didn’t stop it losing 1 million viewers.”
The X Factor will return to ITV later this year.
