JLS reunion is “on the cards”… but don’t expect it to happen soon

There’s bad news for any JLS fans hoping for a reunion any time soon.

The group’s Aston Merrygold has said the four piece have no immediate plans to reunite, despite some rumours of a potential comeback.

The X Factor boy band rose to fame on The X Factor in 2008 where they finished runners up to Alexandra Burke.

The group – made up of Aston, Oritsé Williams, Marvin Humes and JB Gill – went on to release five albums and enjoyed 5 number one singles.

Despite the success, the boys split up in 2013 and each went their separate ways.

Last year there were rumours of a comeback with JB revealing tentative plans to reunite the group.

Speaking to the Daily Star newspaper, JB said: “We’ve always said it’s on the cards, we’re very good friends and we support each other in everything we do. I think 2018 is a good date to aim for, maybe!

“But it has to happen at the right time in our lifestyles because you have to give so much to it. If we’re going to do it we’ve got to do it properly.”

However Aston has said no reunion was planned just yet.

“Everything now is built on reunions, but for us there are no plans,” he told OK! Magazine.

Insisting that there were no problems between the guys, Aston continued: “It’s nice that we’re in a space where we see each other all the time because we want to, and not because we have to.

“We’ve put JLS aside of her accord and we can go out for dinner and don’t have to think about work. We’re a real family.

Meanwhile, Marvin has told Closer magazine: “Me and the boys are so close. There was never any beef between us. We’re all mates and we all get on really well, we just haven’t worked together in five years.

“We’ll wait and see, who knows what will happen in the future?”
