X Factor 2017 spoiler: Simon Cowell 'forms new six piece girl group'

six chair challenge

A new six piece girl group has reportedly been formed on The X Factor 2017.

The mega group was put together earlier this year at the six chair challenge stages by Simon Cowell.

This series, Simon is mentoring the Groups again for the first time since 2010 with One Direction.

And The Sun reports that he hopes for the girls to have just as much success as the boys did seven years ago.

“Simon is placing his hopes on a six-piece girlband, which he made up from contestants who stood out throughout Boot Camp and the auditions," a source told the newspaper. “They all have incredible voices and look amazing together, given they all have a great fashion sense and can dance, too."

The insider added: "Simon thinks the band will appeal to both girls and boys and is hoping they will progress to the live shows.”

The group is said to be made up of former soloists Lydia Calvin, Kelsey Gill, Charlie Cammish, Sky Saron-Wermerling, and Imagen Harrison, plus Ash Holme from another girl group.

> X Factor 2017 judges' categories REVEALED

We saw Kelsey for the first time in the Six Chair Challenge on Sunday where she didn't make it through to judges' houses in the girls category.

This weekend saw another double bill on Saturday and Sunday, starting with the final round of bootcamp arena auditions on Saturday.

The Six Chair Challenge continued on Sunday evening with Sharon Osbourne and the Girls before returning this Saturday and Sunday with the Boys, Overs and Groups.

The Six Chair Challenge will leave six acts in the four categories who will go forward to judges' houses with their mentors.

From there, three acts (based on past years) will be chosen for the live shows which begin at the end of the month.
