In this evening’s episode, try outs moved to Manchester with guest judge Alesha Dixon alongside Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh and Sharon Osbourne.

Acts singing for the judges included Johnny Wright, a 31-year-old singer from Blackpool.

Also singing for the panel was Jenny Ball, a 26-year-old singer from Blackpool.

The pair are best pals but were auditioning as individuals.

“We have both come together to audition separately. We met through singing five, six years ago,” Jenny explained. “We perform together, we do duets, we do karaoke.

Johnny added: “We sing at a lot of pubs, clubs, hotels in Blackpool. We’ve both worked so god damn hard, one of us needs this.”

Ahead of her audition, Jenny told cameras: “I’m feeling nervous, but I’m feeling ready for this today. Hopefully the judges are going to see in me talent. Pure talent.”

“If me and Johnny both get through, we’re going to celebrate. We know how to have a party.”

Johnny performed Rachel Platten’ Fight Song as he faced the panel.

“I don’t think this is what you should be doing. You should be doing more theatre,” Simon Cowell suggested before giving Johnny a no..

Jenny Ball meanwhile belted out David Guetta and Sia’s Titanium.

The judges were full of praise and sent her through to bootcamp.

Despite disappointment, Johnny insisted he was happy for his pal and would support her through the rest of the competition.
