X Factor 2017 spoilers: 6 acts to watch out for in the auditions

X Factor 2017

The X Factor continues this weekend but before the latest show, we've got word on some acts to keep an eye out for.

This series has held auditions across the UK, taking place in Liverpool, Edinburgh, London and Manchester, and in a first for the show, Thorpe Park, where even the judges experienced a ride or two of their own.

For The X Factor 2017, the contestants begin their journey with the intimate closed rooms, in which they find themselves eyeball-to-eyeball in front of the judges.

The one who wrote a song about Dermot

Dermot reveals: "Oh my god, that was a totally awkward moment for me, stood with his mum just watching him sing a song about how much she (his mum) likes me.

"It was flattering but a little bit odd. I guess that’s the evolution of my career though, listen, as long as someone likes you! It might not be the daughters anymore but it’s nice to be liked by the mums!"

The singing monk

Dermot teases: "I was really excited about her! Her audition was off the scale, she was so good. She was singing and then suddenly Simon’s talking about seeing a butterfly come into the room, even though it was at night. It was weird, but she’s spiritual and touched by a higher power, I hope!"

Simon Cowell added: "It sounded better than it was. For about two minutes it was interesting but then suddenly I realised that if I happened to have watched this on another show, I would have watched for about ten seconds."

The ones from the Philippines

According to Dermot, contestants from the Philippines have dominated the auditions thanks to 4th Impact's success.

Dermot says: "We always see talent from across the world, aside from the UK, has any country stood out this year? It’s the year of the Philippines! We had Fourth Impact on the show one year and I think they must have gone home and told half of Manila to apply for the show! It’s so lovely. They are a talented nation of singers."

The girl who made Nicole cry

Nicole Scherzinger says: "There’s a girl called Grace who is very unassuming. She comes out a little bubbly, flighty and you don’t really know what to expect. Then when she sings her original songs Pandora’s Box opens up to her soul and it’s clear.

"You see straight into her, you connect with that and you immediately associate the song to your own life and things going on, things you’ve experienced. That’s what music is about, she has a true gift for song writing. She’s very stripped back and honest when she performs her songs. She makes me cry like a baby every time that she performs."

Danny Lambo

"He’s nicknamed himself that because he has three Lamborghinis," Nicole explains. "He’s a self-made multimillionaire, as he says. He is definitely a very different character. He came to us singing an original song which really gave me a in-depth look into his soul.

X Factor 2017 judges

"It was titled ‘Playboys’. The lyrics were something like, ‘Hoes, boats, Gucci, Prada, selfies with the hotties’. I got to know him a lot more after that song."

The stripper

Ahead of the auditions, Nicole teases: "Oh gosh, the Brazilian dancer! I’ve never seen a bathing suit hold on so tight to a body. She had a lot of energy, a lot of charisma. I think Simon really enjoyed that performance actually."

The X Factor returns to ITV on Saturday 2nd September and Sunday 3rd September at 8pm
