Simon Cowell is reportedly 'determined' to get One Direction back together.
It's been well over a year now since the group went on their 'break', and seven years since the boys were first put together on The X Factor in 2010.
Since then the group have all gone their separate ways with solo careers, each securing at least one Top 10 single.
Louis Tomlinson recently dropped his second solo record but Simon is apparently hopeful he'll soon be back making music with Niall Horan, Harry Styles and Liam Payne.
"He so proud of Louis and all the group’s achievements over the last 18 months," a source said this week. “For them all to launch solo careers – and be a group of superstars individually as well as in the band – makes him so proud.
“It also makes Simon more determined than ever that the hiatus was not the end of One Direction."
The insider added to The Sun newspaper: “Simon has always regarded the band as being on a break, rather than over, and although there are no confirmed plans at the moment for them to get together again, it is absolutely his ambition and belief that the guys will get be reunited.”
Speaking to the tabloid, Louis said he found the group's decision to go on a break "difficult" at first.
But he reflected: “If you asked me now if I think it’s the wrong decision, I don’t think it was.
“I think the market and the fans and everyone had had so much of One Direction that regardless of any individual ventures, the market could do with a two-, three- or however long break away from us.”
