Olympian Louis Smith has been forced to relive his X Factor audition - again.

Former Strictly Come Dancing winner Louis performed for The X Factor judges Simon Cowell, Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, Louis Walsh and Dannii Minogue in 2009.

His audition song was East 17's 'If You Ever' and it got him a rather harsh response from the panel.

Cheryl told Louis: “Thank you Louis. I think you’re a really nice guy. I think you look great, but I think you should come back after 2012 [Olympics]”

And Simon Cowell commented to the then aspiring gymnast: "Your voice isn’t good enough and I don’t think it will never be good enough.”

"Stick to doing what you’re brilliant at doing. For you to achieve what you’ve achieved at your age is incredible.”

Simon concluded: “I’ve given you an opinion - onto 2012.”

Louis was first previously forced to relive the audition, which didn't air when the X Factor was on TV screens in 2009, during an episode of Through The Keyhole in 2013.

But recently Louis was again quizzed on his try out in an appearance on Good Morning Britain.

"No, I didn't audition [for X Factor]," Louis laughed as he tried to forget about the clip, "I didn't. Let's stay on topic."

Louis was on the show to promote his new dance tour Rip It Up alongside fellow Strictly stars Natalie Lowe and Jay McGuiness.

The show launched in September and continues for 42 dates around the UK in September and October.
