Harry Styles has knocked Ed Sheeran off the top spot of the charts this evening.
After a near-record-breaking 13 weeks at Number 1, Ed's reign has been ended by One Direction's Harry.
But it was VERY close in the end.
One Direction star Harry released his debut solo single Sign of The Times on Friday and it quickly shot up to the top of iTunes charts across the world.
As of Monday, the record had totalled 30,000 combined download and streaming sales here in the UK, the Official Charts Company reported, putting it at Number One well ahead of Ed Sheeran's Galway Girl which was behind.
At the close of play however Harry's lead had shrunk to just 3,000 copies, ahead of Ed's Shape of You with second single Galway Girl at Number 3.
Harry's track sold over 39,000 copies and was streamed 3.5 million times in the week, the Official Charts Company said.
Ed's Shape Of You notched up almost twice as many streams - 6.8 million - with Harry's extra downloads putting him ahead.
Harry's Sign Of You is taken from his forthcoming self-titled debut solo album which is out on May 12.
He's now the second One Direction member to score Number 1 with a solo single; Zayn Malik was the first in January 2016 with Pillowtalk.
Niall Horan's debut solo effort This Town managed Number 9 last year while Louis Tomlinson's Just Hold On with Steve Aoki peaked at Number 2.
As yet, Liam Payne is the only member of the currently on hiatus group to have not released solo material.
