X Factor's Saara Aalto has proposed to her girlfriend (again!) after a change in Finnish law.
The runner up of last year's contest - who is currently on the X Factor live tour - made a public proposal over Twitter to partner Meri Sopanen.
It's after same-sex marriage became legal in Saara's home country of Finland after three years of legal wrangling.
"Same sex marriage is legal in Finland today!!! would you marry me @MeriSopanen ?" Saara posted online.
Speaking about her relationship previously, Saara revealed that Meri was actually a fan of hers and the pair met at one of Saara's concerts.
"Meri saw me performing on TV in Finland. She had never sent any fan mail before, but she sent me a very beautiful message,” Saara told OK Magazine in 2016. "I get many messages, but when I saw hers, there was something in it that touched me very much and I wanted to reply”
“I said: ‘You were at my concert, why didn’t you come and say hello?'”
“Then, we never stopped talking. Meri and I were both in a situation that meant it wasn’t easy for us to be together immediately. We wanted to take our time,” she added.
The pair first got officially engaged last year when Meri popped the question rather casually.
Saara explained at the time: “I washed off my make-up, put on my pyjamas and sat on the sofa. She just said: ‘Oh, we had a lovely day…’ Then: ‘Will you marry me?’
“I was like: ‘You can’t do it when I look like this!’ So for me, it was a surprise!”
Meri added: “We did have candles! I wanted to do it when she wasn’t wearing make-up – I love her soul.”
Following The X Factor, Saara has signed a record deal with Sony Music and will put out an album later this year.
