Last year's X Factor champ is already hard at work on his debut album and after his Ed Sheeran-penned winner's song, is lining up some big name writers for his new tracks.
Matt revealed to the Daily Star newspaper: "When I did his song it was an amazing moment. So to record a song written by him now is so exciting."
The pair previously met up during last year's live shows.
"What are the chances? It's just crazy," Matt said at the time. "I had a bunch of questions to ask him about his career. It was pretty cool. He's an artist I've listened to since he started and I think his career is just insane.
"He told me he'd heard me sing 'I'll Be There', which he thought sounded good. He said to me to just keep doing what I'm doing."
Despite winning the show, Matt wasn't signed by Simon Cowell's Syco label and has instead partnered with RCA Records for his album.
Insiders claim they feel the label is a better fit for Matt, with other X Factor stars including Olly Murs on its roster.
"Simon and Sony have had a think and believe that Matt is very much an artist in the mould of Olly Murs," a source said. “And to that end, they both believe he should be a label mate of Olly’s on RCA."
