X Factor's Ryan Lawrie is set to sign a major new music deal, it's been reported.
The singer is hoping to pen a publishing contract that could see him writing hit songs for others.
A source told the Daily Star newspaper: "He's putting his own music career on hold to write other songs for others.
"He's working with some pretty decent people in the industry and has had interest from major publishing companies."
Ryan, who appeared on The X Factor last year with girlfriend Emily Middlemas, finished sixth in the competition.
He's not left the recording studio since and apparently has a number of meetings lined up about his songs in the Spring.
"He didn't sign to Syco but his eyes are set on a publishing deal and he's close to landing one already a number of future hits have been written," the insider claimed.
"He has a number of meetings planned in April to meet with publishers to discuss his future."
But before that is The X Factor tour where Ryan will join Emily and six other acts on the road for this year's live arena shows.
Alongside the pair on the line up are winner Matt Terry, runner up Saara Aalto, 5 After Midnight, Honey G, Samantha Lavery and Four Of Diamonds.
The X Factor 2017 live tour will start in February in Nottingham.
