X Factor finalists who are in a secret relationship are 'closer than ever'

Two of The X Factor finalists from last year's show in a supposed secret relationship are 'closer than ever'.

Rumours swirled in the final weeks of 2016's live shows about two of the contestants enjoying a 'secret romance'.

The two guys are said to have first got together at judges' houses having "completely fell head over heels" for one another after first meeting.

According to the Daily Mirror newspaper last month, the couple were said to be keeping their romance private over fears that it may hurt their careers.

The newspaper now reports today that the guys are still together and are 'scaling back' their social media presence to avoid the relationship being revealed.

“The pair are closer than ever but want to keep their relationship under wraps,” the insider claimed. “It isn't clear if they will both be going on the X Factor tour but they do have solo projects coming up and they don't want their love to get in the way of any future plans.”

The source added: “There have been a few sneaky Snapchats that have been deleted before fans noticed them so the pair have scaled back their social media presence.”

Following The X Factor final, winner Matt Terry opened up about his sexuality after being linked to fellow contestant Freddy Parker.

Viewers were convinced they shared a kiss on stage in the live final but Matt insisted the pair were just friends with a close bromance.

"As far as I'm concerned, I am a heterosexual man - but I will totally keep fans up to date with my personal life and who I am dating," said Matt in an interview with the Daily Star newspaper. "They will be the first to know."

The X Factor will return to ITV later this year.
