X Factor 2016 winner Matt Terry has spoken out about his sexuality following Sunday's final.
Matt found himself linked to fellow contestant Freddy Parker over the weekend after viewers were convinced they shared a kiss on stage in live show.
But yesterday Matt insisted the pair were just friends with a close bromance.
"As far as I'm concerned, I am a heterosexual man - but I will totally keep fans up to date with my personal life and who I am dating," said Matt in a new interview with the Daily Star newspaper. "They will be the first to know.
"Fame is overwhelming but it is part of my job and I want to embrace it."
Matt has also revealed how he only decided to audition for The X Factor after splitting from his girlfriend.
The Bromley singer was dumped by his girlfriend of three years back in May just before his birthday.
"That was the start of everything changing," Matt said this week. “At the time it was really tough because she ended it, it was her choice. We just spent so much time together.
“We were in our own little bubble. She wanted to be a dancer and I wanted to be a singer. It’s worked out for the best," he added to the Daily Mirror newspaper.
Matt went on to insist he's still very much single and revealed that his ex-girlfriend had continued to support him throughout the competition.
“I’m not looking for love, I can’t wait to start writing. It’s important to use your life experiences," Matt said of his planned debut album. “It’s my story to tell. I’ve just gotten out of a three-year relationship and now is my time to concentrate on myself."
He added of his ex-girlfriend: “She hasn’t tried to get back with me, she sticks by her decision. We’re friends as we’ve got the same friendship group.
“She’s wished me luck throughout the competition and has been supportive.”
Matt's winner's single When Christmas Comes Around is out now.
