Saara Aalto was top of the X Factor 2016 voting figures on Saturday night, it's been revealed.
Earlier tonight saw Matt Terry beat Saara to win the series and it was very close in the final few weeks.
Matt finished the weekend with 48% of the vote compared to Saara's 40% following the third place elimination of 5 After Midnight.
However at the vote freeze on Saturday, Saara was in the lead. It's the first time EVER in X Factor history that the winner has changed over the weekend.
Saara had 35% of the vote to 33% for Matt, while 5 After Midnight had 31% at the freeze, showing just how close the final result was.
As we knew before the live final, Saara, Matt, 5 After Midnight and fourth placed Emily Middlemas all topped the vote throughout the process.
Despite appearing in the sing-off three times, Saara was actually NEVER in the bottom two of the vote. The life line vote saved Freddy Parker in Week 1, Ryan Lawrie in Week 2, and Samantha Lavery in Week 5 from the sing-off.
In terms of the sing-off decisions by the judges compared to the votes, Relley C was sent home before 4 of Diamonds in Week 3 despite getting more votes and again in Week 4, 4 of Diamonds stayed above Gifty Louise despite her having more votes.
In Week 7, Ryan Lawrie left but actually had more votes than Honey G who was saved by the judges.
Throughout the series there were some nail-bitingly close results.
In Week 8, just 3% split Saara at the top of the vote and 5 After Midnight in the bottom two. And In Week 6, just 0.6% saw Honey G avoid the sing-off
