Matt Terry is set to duet with his mentor Nicole Scherzinger on The X Factor final tonight.
Matt and Nicole will perform after his original duet plans reportedly fell through.
Earlier this week, The Sun newspaper claimed that James Arthur had "turned down the opportunity" to sing with Matt having originally been lined up to sing with Emily Middlemas.
It was the second blow to Matt ahead of the final after Sam Smith also reportedly pulled out of a duet with him.
According to the Daily Star on Sunday newspaper, the duo were lined up to sing James Bond theme Writing’s On The Wall together, a song Matt previously performed on the show on his own.
“Sam loved his version so it seemed the perfect plan to put them together," a source said at the weekend. "There’s still a slim chance but it doesn’t look like it will happen now.”
Now Matt is lined up to sing with his mentor, Nicole Scherzinger.
"We were saying yesterday we're so the same. We say the same things and we have the same ideas. We think the same," Matt said of Nicole this week.
He added of a potential duet: "I'm not sure what I want to sing - hopefully we'll be on the same page and say the same song."
The X Factor 2016 final airs tonight at 8PM on ITV.
As well as the celebrity duets, the final three - Matt, 5 After Midnight and Saara Aalto - will be performing a new solo song each.
