5 After Midnight were originally due to sing with The Spice Girls on The X Factor 2016, it's been claimed.
The trio were lined up to sing alongside so-called Spice Girls GEM, made up of Geri Halliwell, Emma Bunton and Mel B.
According to The Sun newspaper, the girls and guys were set to team up on Say You’ll Be There, which 5 After Midnight previously performed in the live shows.
However the plans have supposedly fallen through at the last minute.
“The girls were very keen to make it happen and negotiations went on throughout the week," a source told The Sun newspaper. “But at the end of the day they couldn’t make the schedules work.
"Mel B was in town for the filming of Lip Sync Battle, but she has to get to New York to start rehearsals for Chicago on Broadway."
According to the newspaper, it's left show bosses searching for a replacement.
Rumour had it that 5 After Midnight, who hosted a homecoming gig in Leicester on Tuesday, were set to share the stage with The Weeknd.
But although The X Factor has confirmed he will be appearing in the final, that duet may now be off.
Instead, according to The Sun, 5 After Midnight may sing with reigning winner Louisa Johnson and group Clean Bandit on their hit Tears.
The X Factor 2016 final airs this weekend live on ITV from 8PM on Saturday and Sunday from Wembley Arena.
As well as the duets, there will be confirmed guest performances from Little Mix and Kylie!
