X Factor's Emily Middlemas hits back at Nick Grimshaw over his 'nasty tweets'

Emily Middlemas has hit back at former X Factor judge Nick Grimshaw after he slated one of her performances.

Nick, who was a judge alongside Simon Cowell, Rita Ora and Cheryl Cole, was tweeting about the show recently and had a lot to say.

Unfortunately poor Emily' cover of Toxic came in for a particular mauling.

"I just watched someone play the ukulele and sing Toxic by Britney Spears on the X Factor and people pretended it wasn't horrible," he quipped online.

Nick also laughed at the VTs showing the contestants hearing what a "focus group" of X Factor viewers had to say about them.

"A focus group!!!!😂😂😂😂 the true sign to being a real artist 😂😂😂" he wrote.

Speaking out this week about Nick's comments, Emily said: "Not everyone is going to like my voice and that's fine.

"He probably shouldn't tweet nasty things though."

Speaking to OK! magazine, she added: "You never know what people's emotions are or what place they are in mentally."

Emily, who was eliminated from the show on Sunday night, went on to say: "I’m just proud of myself to get through to the semi final.

"This year has been amazing and I’ve been so lucky to have been a part of it."

The X Factor 2016 continues this Saturday and Sunday night on ITV.
