The X Factor is tipped to miss the Christmas Number 1 spot again this year.
Last year Louisa Johnson managed to peak at Number 9 with her effort, and this year's champ faces an uphill battle to do battle.
The race for UK Christmas Number One is on and at present it’s the song that has been written in memory of MP Jo Cox that heads the betting to be named this year's festive chart topper.
The X Factor winner will be crowned this weekend and they are 7/2 to take the top spot in the Christmas charts.
However BoyleSports can report a major plunge on 11 year old Cruz Beckham whose debut song “If Every Day Was Christmas” was dropped on Wednesday. Having originally been available at 50/1, Cruz Beckham is now 7/1 to claim the coveted top spot in the UK Charts come Christmas.
Other contenders include The London Gospel Choir at 9/1, Clean Bandit, Inspiral Carpets and Mariah Carey who are all priced at 12/1. Outsiders to claim the UK Christmas Number One are The Pogues at 25/1, The Spice Girls at 33/1 whilst former X Factor winners Little Mix can be backed at 50/1.
Liam Glynn, BoyleSports spokesperson said: “The race for Christmas Number One in the UK is certainly on and since Cruz Beckham’s song was dropped, he’s the one that punters believe will top the UK Christmas charts. Beckham was priced at 50/1 on Wednesday morning but having filled the book up at 25/1 and 14/1, he is now 7/1 to claim the top spot.”
He added “Cruz Beckham is tipped to be the next Justin Bieber and if his singing vocals are anything like his mother’s he is sure to succeed. Friends of Jo Cox remains tipped to get the UK Christmas Number One spot but judging by the support for Beckham on Wednesday, they have competition on their hands.”
