Emily Middlemas has had a tearful reunion with Ryan Lawrie after leaving The X Factor 2016.
It was Emily who left The X Factor this week, just missing out on a spot in the grand final at Wembley Arena.
Emily was in the bottom two sing off against Matt Terry, the first time for both in the danger zone.
But her place in the final slipped away as the judges backed Matt to join Saara Aalto and 5 After Midnight at Wembley next weekend.
Speaking after her exit yesterday, Emily spoke not only of her time on the show but also boyfriend Ryan Lawrie, who was of course a contestant this year too.
Revealing plans of marriage, Emily told The Sun newspaper: "We are so strong and we have bonded and just got stronger over the past four years.
“He knows me inside out and he’s the only person that really knows every single thing about me and I know every single thing about him, so we’re super strong and I really don’t see anything happening or anything breaking us up.”
And Emily said that "of course" mentor Simon Cowell will get an invite to the big day.
“He was really supportive of me and Ryan and said to me that he thinks Ryan is a really nice boy," she said. “He said, ‘You guys are really sweet, you guys are a good couple and really suit each other.’
“It was really nice of him to say that and for his approval as well.”
Emily went on to say that the pair planned to write and release music together, teasing: “We’ll write songs together and do covers and have a nice little Ed Sheeran-Taylor Swift vibe with our guitars.”
On Sunday night's Xtra Factor, Emily got a bit teary when Ryan made a surprise call to her live on air.
Ryan told Emily: "I just want to say wow, you've done everyone so proud. you've come 4th on X Factor and you've made everyone so proud, you've made yourself proud, I'm so proud of you.
"I love you so much.
"The future is so bright, so go for it."
"I love you," replied Emily before welling up: "I'm going to end up crying now."
She added on the ITV2 spin-off show: "It's like honestly so amazing and I'm so proud of him, he came 6th out of thousands of people.
"Even that is amazing. I'm really excited for us both, we are determined and hard workers. We're in this together"
With Emily out just three acts remain in the X Factor 2016 and the race to the final is on.
It's shaping up to be the closest run EVER with all three having both been top of the vote and in the sing off.
The X Factor is back next Saturday and Sunday on ITV from 8PM.
