X Factor's Emily Middlemas says even she wasn't keen on all her slow songs in the live shows.
Every week Emily would promise on spin-off series the Xtra Factor that she would sing an upbeat song, but it never happened.
Now out of the competition, Emily says that mentor Simon Cowell turned her into a "dark pop artist", while she just longed to dance.
Emily said: "I really respect Simon for what he did for me because he formed me into a really dark pop artist... But I would have loved to have done some upbeat songs.
"It would have been fun, but I'm really happy with what I did in the show."
She continued: "It would have been fun to do more dancing.
"I did figure-skating and tap dancing and ballet when I was younger, so I do have the dancing, rhythm experience. So it would have been fun to have tried something. But that's something that I can do on the tour."
Despite not being completely behind Simon's song choices on The X Factor, Emily would still jump at the chance of a record deal with the label boss.
"I would love to sign to SyCo but I think we are waiting for the show to finish to see what happens," Emily told DigitalSpy. "I will definitely be in touch with Simon with my plans with what I want to do in the future, and it would be good if he were to take me on board."
With Emily out just three acts remain in the X Factor 2016 and the race to the final is on.
It's shaping up to be the closest run EVER with all three having both been top of the vote and in the sing off.
The X Factor is back next Saturday and Sunday on ITV from 8PM.
