Two of this year's eliminated X Factor contestants are set to release a Christmas single.
Caitlyn Vanbeck and Nate Simpson, who both got as far as judges' houses this year, will face off against The X Factor winner for Number 1.
The pair have teamed up for single Retro Soul (So Hot), which will be released next Friday, December 9, according to the East Lothian Courier.
The duo are releasing the song under the name The Underdogs as they go head to head with The X Factor winner.
Caitlyn said: "Coming off the X Factor was quite a blow but having the opportunity to work with the legendary Pete Hammond and of course Nate has just been incredible.
"The song is a feel good song which we had alot of fun recording and I just hope the public like it as much as us."
The single is being released through independent record company Nova Universal Distribution, who said: "It might well ruffle a few feathers but the British public always support the underdog. After all it is supposed to be a singing contest."
You can pre-order the single here.
Caitlyn and Nate will get a three day head-start on The X Factor winner, who will be at a disadvantage as a result of the shift in chart week from Sundays to Fridays.
Last year saw reigning X Factor champ Louisa Johnson miss out on the top spot with her effort peaking at Number 9, the only X Factor winner's song never to reach Number 1.
However show bosses are keen for that failure not to repeat itself, and have supposedly got Ed Sheeran on board to write this year's winner's song.
Emily Middlemas, 5 After Midnight, Saara Aalto and Matt Terry all remain in the running to win the series.
