Sharon Osbourne has revealed what's really written on those papers on The X Factor 2016 judges' desk.

Although it really isn't as juicy or as interesting as we wanted it to be.

In the latest X Factor results, Sharon held up her papers in front of the camera as she and Louis Walsh did battle over their acts in the sing off.

But the papers didn't show that the whole thing was scripted, simply revealing a reminder about how the sing off works.

After countless episodes now you'd like to imagine Sharon would have got to grips with the format...

"THE NAME OF THE ACT I AM SENDING HOME IS..." the text reads, with the words 'Sending Home' furiously underlined in pen.

It was Quarter Finals week on the show on Saturday night as the then remaining five contestants performed live once again.

In Sunday evening's live show on ITV, Dermot O'Leary announced that Honey G and 5 After Midnight were in the bottom two and therefore in the sing off.

It was the second time for Honey G in the sing off in as many weeks but the first time that 5 After Midnight were in the danger zone.

After the sing off, it was over to the judges to decide who to keep. First up was Louis Walsh who backed his own act 5 After Midnight and so sent home Honey G. Sharon Osbourne similarly supported her own act, sending 5 After Midnight home.

Nicole Scherzinger said: "Honey G, you put the fun in phenomenal, you've earned my respect, you're a fighter and a hard worker but I'm sorry the act I'm sending home is Honey G."

With the casting vote, Simon Cowell said: "I have to do what I think the public would expect me to do in this position. The act I'm sending home is Honey G."

Therefore with 3 votes to go home to one, Honey G bowed out of the competition.
