X Factor 2016 winner: 'Closest ever results' but Saara Aalto is the current favourite

Who won The X Factor? Latest odds!

Saara Aalto is the favourite to win The X Factor 2016 in this weekend's final results.

But it's set to be the closest final ever.

All three of the finalists have topped the official vote and all three have also appeared on the sing off, meaning it'll all come down to the performances this weekend.

Ahead of tonight's first live show, bookmaker Coral make Saara the favourite to be crowned this year’s X Factor winner, following unprecedented support in her favour in the last two weeks. Throughout the contest, the Finnish singer’s odds have crashed from 100-1 right down to 8-13.

A win for the singer will give many punters an early Christmas present, including one female punter from Bristol who stands to win £8,000 after she placed a £100 bet on the 29-year-old when she was priced at 80-1.

Long-running favourite Matt Terry, has now been demoted to second favourite at 5-2, while 5 After Midnight are priced at 5-1.

Meanwhile, Coral has also opened specials ahead of the final at Wembley, and after making numerous blunders throughout this series, Sharon Osbourne has been chalked up at 4-1 to swear on air, while it’s 2-1 that she forgets her acts name again.

This year’s winner is the second favourite to be Christmas number one at odds of 7-2, with Friends of Jo Cox the favourite at 13-8.

"This year's X Factor crown is Saara's to lose now, after her rapid rise in popularity in recent weeks," said Coral's Nicola McGeady.

"The support she has received has certainly caught us off guard and we are facing one of our biggest X Factor pay-outs if she wins," added McGeady.
