X Factor 2016: Honey G 'attacked' on stage in live show shock

There was a stage invasion on The X Factor 2016 tonight during Honey G's latest live performance.

After appearing in the bottom two last week for the first time, the North Weezy rapper was going all out tonight to avoid a second sing off.

But her latest performance had an unexpected twist.

In tonight's show, Honey was seen singing a new mash up - chosen by Louis Walsh as part of the Louis Loves theme - made up of U Can't Touch This by MC Hammer mixed with Rick James' Super Freak.

However at the end of the performance a trio of strangers invaded the stage, prompting confusion.

Cameras were quick to cut away as they focused on the judges looking stunned, before Simon Cowell himself got up on stage to sort them out.

"I thought that was part of the act for a second," he said.

"I was bit worried about that myself," confessed Honey G, who appeared rather flustered.

Simon replied: "This is what you do, you cause people to go a little crazy. I'm s sorry about that."

Online and viewers were quick to react.

"How do we vote for the people who just stormed the stage when Honey G performed? #XFactor," one wrote.

But another added: "Actually feel so sorry for Honey G she obviously didn't feel comfortable and Sharon was just laughing #XFactor"

Let's hope they won't be back for Honey G's second performance tonight.

It's Quarter Finals weekend where, for the first time this year, she and the other remaining acts will be singing twice.

Her second song will in fact be another mash up, this time of Black Beatles by Rae Sremmurd & Gucci Mane and Push It by Salt-N-Pepa.

And there will be a special twist.

A source teased: “She came up with the amazing idea of doing a Mannequin Challenge live on the show and getting all the judges involved. It’s a big risk in front of millions of viewers as it could all go horribly wrong, but if she pulls it off it will be huge."

The X Factor airs Saturday and Sunday nights live on ITV at 8PM.
