Last night's X Factor results from the weekend

Who left The X Factor 2016 last night? Here's a recap of the latest elimination results as another went home?

It was Movies week on the show at the X Factor last weekend as the remaining six contestants performed live once more this year.

Those left in the contest going into the weekend were Nicole Scherzinger's Boys - Matt Terry and Ryan Lawrie, Simon Cowell's lone Girl - Emily Middlemas, Sharon Osbourne's Overs - Honey G and Saara Aalto, and finally Louis Walsh last remaining Group - 5 After Midnight.

The judges had plenty to say on each of the latest performances but it was viewer votes alone that determined the bottom two yesterday (Sunday) evening.

Who left The X Factor last night?

At the end of last night's results show, it was Ryan Lawrie who was voted off and went home.

In Sunday evening's results show on ITV, Dermot O'Leary announced that Honey G and Ryan Lawrie were bottom of the phone vote and therefore in the sing off.

It was the first time for Honey G in the sing off but the fifth time in the danger zone for Ryan and his second sing-off in as many weeks.

However it was a close result, with Dermot revealing just 5% split the bottom four contestants.

In the sing off, Ryan went first with Ed Sheeran's Lego House before Honey G performed Get Your Freak On by Missy Elliot.

It was then over to the judges to decide who to keep...

To no surprise, Sharon Osbourne and Nicole Scherzinger each backed their own acts, sending home Ryan and Honey G respectively.

Simon Cowell said: "I think it should go to deadlock... the one who for me they wanted to stay in more was Honey G so I'm going to send home Ryan."

Louis Walsh said: "Guys it was a really good sing off but the name of the act I am sending home is Ryan."

Therefore with three votes to one, Ryan bowed out of the competition.

Elsewhere in last night's results there were performances from Alicia Keys and Craig David, as well as from the cast of new musical School of Rock.

Meanwhile, it was confirmed that the Quarter Finals next week will see a 'Louis Loves' theme with two songs performed by each act.
