X Factor 2016 results branded a 'FIX' after Honey G makes Quarter Finals

Tonight's X Factor 2016 results have had viewers branding the show a 'FIX'.

Tonight saw the seventh X Factor 2016 results of the series as Ryan Lawrie bowed out of the competition.

He was eliminated in the sing off against Honey G with the bottom three life line vote twist axed ahead of the Quarter Finals.

In the sing off, Honey G performed Get Your Freak On by Missy Elliot before Ryan sung Ed Sheeran's Lego House.

Sharon Osbourne and Nicole Scherzinger each backed their own acts, sending home Ryan and Honey G respectively.

Simon Cowell said: "I think it should go to deadlock... the one who for me they wanted to stay in more was Honey G so I'm going to send home Ryan."

Louis Walsh said: "Guys it was a really good sing off but the name of the act I am sending home is Ryan."

The decision didn't impress viewers with one writing online: "Simon keeping Honey G is a FIX desperate for ratings I can only assume. #XFactor"

Another claimed: "Keeping Honey G in #Xfactor at this late stage is for one reason. To guarantee that the person chosen by the judges to win has a clear path."

And a third wrote on Twitter: "I can't believe there are people who think that Honey G is better than Ryan. I can't. This is the biggest insult ever for the real rappers."

On the Xtra Factor, Louis and Simon defended their choices arguing that Ryan had 'no further to go' after four previous appearances in the danger zone.

Louis said: "It's all about the entertainment factor, Honey G entertains. She's always doing something different, she's a really nice person and takes it so seriously. She's having the time of her life and I wasn't sending her home."
