X Factor 2016: Matt Terry eyeing up the final at Wembley Arena

X Factor 2016 singer Matt Terry is eyeing up the final at Wembley Arena.

And after his latest performance, his ticket to the last live show is pretty much already in his hand.

Bookies have cut his odds of winning the competition once more, with Matt having been the favourite now since the audition stages.

Saturday was movies night and Matt made mentor Nicole Scherzinger cry with his cover of Sam Smith's Writing's on the Wall.

"I don't wanna cry. I got balls of steel!" she told him. "It's what we are all here for. Baby you look so expensive. What you have you cannot buy. I know what this song means to you, and you took me there."

Louis Walsh added: That was like a vocal masterclass, you have to be in the final, you deserve to be."

"This is what we've been waiting for," Simon Cowell said. "This is what we look for.

While the judges and bookies are both convinced that Matt is sure for the final, he's not counting his chickens and vowed to keep on working to make it hapen.

Speaking to the BBC, Matt said: "I hope I can make the final. I really would love to be going to the final, I feel it would be life changing to me."

He continued: "It's something I've always, always wanted so I'm believing in myself and going for gold."

The X Factor continues next Saturday and Sunday at 8PM on ITV as the final five become four at the Quarter Finals.
