Emily Middlemas says she couldn't find an upbeat song to sing on The X Factor tonight.
Last weekend Emily dramatically hit out at own mentor Simon Cowell after a string of slow songs.
It was Disco week but Emily performed Wishing On A Star which left Sharon Osbourne, Nicole Scherzinger and Louis Walsh unimpressed
Simon told Emily: "Forget what they said. It was beautifully dramatic and beautifully staged."
However Emily told host Dermot O'Leary she actually disagreed with her own mentor and sided with the other judges.
"I agree with all three of them. I really want to do something upbeat. I've just stood on the one spot," she complained.
Despite vowing to sing an upbeat song last Sunday, once again Emily performed another slow number tonight, It Must Have Been Love.
Insisting she was "happy" with her song choice for Movies week, Emily told Xtra Factor: "Last weekend I thought I definitely was going to do an upbeat song.
"But then on Monday we had to pick our songs and I was looking through a list and I couldn't find any upbeat songs in movies and this tune was perfect for me."
She added on ITV2: "I thought, I'm just going to stay true to who I am because I love this so much."
But will it be enough to get Emily to the final next month? She's got everything crossed!
"It would be absolutely amazing to be in that final and be at Wembley Arena. I'd just cry on stage, it'd be so emotional," Emily said.
While the judges raved about Emily's "haunting" performance tonight, some viewers weren't so easily won over.
"Pretty sure I dozed off during that one. #XFactor" tweeted one fan of the show.
Another claimed: "Emily is so depressing get her off Saturday night tv #XFactor"
"I think its Emilys week to go ! #XFactor," a third concluded.
Can Emily avoid the bottom two sing-off this weekend?
The X Factor 2016 is back at 8PM on Sunday night with the latest results will see another act leave, as well as performances from Craig David and Alicia Keys.
