Who left The X Factor 2016 last night? The latest elimination results are in but who went home?
It was Disco week on the show Saturday night as the remaining seven contestants performed live once more this year.
Those left in the contest going into the weekend were Nicole Scherzinger's Boys - Matt Terry and Ryan Lawrie, Simon Cowell's Girls - Emily Middlemas and Samantha Lavery, Sharon Osbourne's Overs - Honey G and Saara Aalto, and finally Louis Walsh last remaining Group - 5 After Midnight.
The judges had plenty to say on each of the latest performances but it was viewer votes alone that determined the bottom two Sunday evening.
Who left The X Factor last night?
At the end of yesterday's results show, we ended up saying goodbye to Samantha Lavery who left the competition and went home.
Lines to vote for the top seven singers had opened Saturday ahead of the latest performances and closed in Sunday night's results show where the bottom two were revealed.
There was no bottom three or life line vote last night as the competition passed the half way mark.
In Sunday evening's live show on ITV, Dermot O'Leary announced that Samantha Lavery and Ryan Lawrie were in the bottom two and therefore in the sing off.
It was the first time for both in the sing off although they had each been saved via the life line vote previously.
First up, Sam performed Mary J Blige's No More Drama before Ryan belted out Oasis' Stop Crying Your Heart Out
It was then over to the judges to decide who to keep...
This week's X Factor 2016 results
Nicole Scherzinger and Simon Cowell each backed their own acts, sending home Sam and Ryan respectively.
Louis Walsh was next: "Both were really good in the sing off, Sam is my wild card, the person I'm sending home is Ryan."
With the casting vote, Sharon Osbourne said: "Ryan, you have improved so much. I honestly don't know what to do. The name of the act I'm sending home is and this is only because he's been in the bottom so many times....I'm sending home... Sam."
With the judges' votes split it meant that the result went to deadlock and reverted to the results of the earlier public vote.
And with the fewest votes from the public it was Samantha who went home.
