Samantha Lavery has become the favourite to leave The X Factor 2016 this weekend.
After appearing in the bottom three last weekend, bookies have slashed the odds on Sam leaving after the Disco week songs were revealed earlier today.
Initially three acts were tied for elimination favouritism, Sam, Saara Aalto, and Ryan Lawrie, however punters have been out in force in the run up to the weekend’s performances and there is now a frontrunner for the chop.
Sam narrowly escaped the sing off last week thanks to the lifeline vote, but she may not be so lucky this time round as punters have supported her into the 13/8 favourite having been priced at 7/4, alongside Saara and Ryan.
Saara and Ryan remain head to head at 7/4, but have seen very little interest from punters.
Honey G is moving out of her rapping comfort zone this week, singing the Bee Gees Stayin’ Alive. Despite having yet to sing a full song on the X Factor Honey G is a 20/1 longshot to get the boot. In fact she is third in the betting at 13/2 to win.
Matt Terry continues to hold onto to favouritism at 8/11 with Emily Middlemas the 5/2 second favourite.
Aoife Heffron from bookmakers BoyleSports commented: “Having been unable to separate Sam, Saara and Ryan at the beginning of the week, punters have spoken and it is Sam who is now the 13/8 favourite to be eliminated from the X Factor this weekend. She is the slight favourite, with Ryan and Saara close behind at 7/4, but the money has been all for Sam to go.”
She added: “We might actually hear Honey G sing this weekend, which could be a dangerous move and ruin her ‘rapper’ persona, but the odds of her leaving remain big at 20/1 as she continues to edge close to the head of the Outright betting.”
The X Factor 2016 airs Saturday and Sunday night on ITV.
